Masterbatch South Africa (MBSA) manufactures and supplies masterbatch, pigments and additives to the plastics industry. The company boasts a vast electronic library of colours, including black and white, from which customers can choose. A colour match can also be done using advanced colour matching software. MBSA supplies an extensive range of masterbatch solutions, providing efficient, reliable and cost-effective ways of adding colour, effects and/or performance enhancements to plastic products. Since inception in 1998, MBSA has grown with branches in Durban, Cape Town and its headquarters in Spartan, Kempton Park.

SAPY was established in 1994 to supply the multi-filament polypropylene yarn market in South Africa and surrounding regions, and began production in October 1995. Over 70 000m²-factory space is home to three modernised divisions –yarn, masterbatch and fibre. The company specialises in masterbatches for sheet/film extrusion, blow moulding, injection moulding, tape extrusion (raffia), coating, multifilament spinning, spun bond and other non-wovens. Our yarn division houses the largest multi-filament polypropylene yarn extrusion facility in Southern Africa. SAPY is also the only South African masterbatch manufacturer that is also a consumer. Over 10 years of experience in the industry has cumulated in an ever-growing library of thousands of colours. The Colour Laboratory houses state-of-the-art equipment, including high-spec photo-spectrometers, and a powerful database used for cataloguing and expediting custom masterbatches.

Sun Ace dates back to 1940, when Mr Toshio Yoshida established the Japanese company - Shinagawa Chemicals. Shinagawa Chemicals was a polymer additives & speciality chemical manufacturing company and evolved into Sun Ace Corporation. Sun Ace Corporation went on to establish Sun Ace Singapore in 1980. Since 1980, the Sun Ace Group has grown into a leading global manufacturer with facilities and offices in Asia Pacific, Africa, Middle East and South America. Sun Ace South Africa was established in 1996. Sun Ace South Africa then proceeded with manufacturing in 2003 and opened the Kenya Technical Service in 2013.
