EVERY DAY at supermarkets, consumers pick up products from the shelf and place them in their baskets without giving much thought to their packaging. This covers the manufacture and supply of printed and unprinted film products, as well as the procurement, warehousing, and distribution of general packaging materials across both the manufacturing facility and the Lafrenz warehouse. However, quality alone is often not enough. A pack must act as a barrier against contamination while maintaining the product’s integrity from factory floor to family table.
Recognising this responsibility, Plastic Packaging (Pty) Ltd achieved FSSC 22000 certification in 2022 and successfully renewed it in 2025. Globally recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), FSSC 22000 is regarded as one of the most rigorous food safety standards in the industry.

Consumers are increasingly aware of the materials used in the products they purchase, while globally, regulators continue to tighten requirements for food-contact packaging. Meeting these expectations requires transparency and vigilance. Plastic Packaging (Pty) Ltd maintains a comprehensive Declaration of Compliance confirming that its food-contact packaging products are free from a wide-ranging substances of concern, including PVC, PFAS chemicals, Bisphenols, Phthalates, Melamine, PVDC, and other restricted substances. The company also aligns with key European food-contact regulations and good manufacturing practice requirements, while inks and varnishes used in production comply with EuPIA guidelines.
