T3 Plastic Packaging & Mpact Plastics awarded top honours at Gold Pack Awards
THE Gold Pack Awards programme is designed to showcase the very best of the packaging industry. With the introduction of the AfriStar Awards as a part of this programme, the awards are now an international celebration and showcase for packaging across the African continent.
Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals were awarded to the top three winners in each category. However, all entries achieving finalist status as well as the medal winners qualify for entry into the international WPO WorldStar Awards. Winning any Gold Pack or AfriStar medal is held in high esteem by the packaging industry.
The judges comprised a panel of impartial and experienced people with a wide range of packaging knowledge. The judges took into account the imported technology, components, and constituents and looked specifically for the African input in the creation of excellent packaging.
For the first time, two entries were judged deserving of the Gold Pack Trophy, T3 Plastic Packaging and Mpact Plastics Wadeville.

Integrated Moulded Handle Bottle
This long-awaited SA introduction of a PET integrated moulded handle (IMH) bottle compares very favourably to alternatives that use inserted, attached, or clip-on handles produced from different substrates. The bottle has a PET handle that is injection moulded during the preform production. The IMH bottle is lightweight and fully compliant with EPR regulations.
